I just downloaded ASUS ENhanced drivers for ATI, and now I can use that "splendid" thingy.
Videos look a lot more vivid. Very nice indeeed.
Bottom line: it will work on asus laptops.

Which drivers are these and where did you get them? Omega's drivers based on the 5.6 cats are very nice as well.

Justin, do you recommend switching over to Omega drivers? I dont plan on doing much gaming on my W3V... but if it will improve video quality and such then i am willing to give it a try.

I don't *recommend* anything, but I like them for certain things. For instance, one game in particular which I don't play much at all, but when I do I can tell the difference is doom 3..... it makes for a huge difference.
The one drawback so far is that it doesn't appear that the omega drivers support hypermemory in the same ways that Asus drivers did....... It looks like that maxes out at 128 total... but I've got to do more testing with that.

I tried these drivers on my W3V. When I rebooted, the LCD went blank (off actually) when winxp loaded. I had to go into safe mode to uninstall. I guess it's a no go on the W3V.

Well.
THis are not drivers. They are just an enhancement that install on the existing drivers.
I'm running the official catalyst 5.6 and the splendid drivers are this ones:

All is running ok. The only thing I didn'tr tried was the asus OSD.
