Damaged/used part in the box.

Question:
Damaged/used part in the box.
Has anybody ever received a Dell laptop box with a used component ? Any idea if this is a re-conditioned one or not ? I place the order over phone for a bran new one.
An early response will help me to return the product.
Thanks in advance

Re: Damaged/used part in the box.
Well if I ordered a "New" item and I got a used one, that wouldn't be cool. How do you know it was used? Also, I doubt they recondition any parts, they probably check if it works, but not fix something & then send it to you. Then you'll have to ask yourself if you want to keep it (if it works, of course), and avoid the hassles of returning it & wasting more of your valuable time.

Thanks Mike,
If I turn the mouse upside down , amount of scratches shows that it was used for a long time and I am not confidient about the laptop, is there any way to chek it if the laptop is used other than files timestamp?

Not really any way to know for certain if it's used. File timestamps aren't going to help, since the image would have been restored anyway.

Re: Damaged/used part in the box.
Can anybody please help as to what I should do in this case. The product was delivered to my home address with 38hrs of placing the order with a used mouse [ seems used for a long time ]. I have made complaint to Dell customer support in vain [ I have not received any satisfactory answer from them ]. I also mad two complaints via support.dell.co.uk but without any reply during last 5 days.
Please please help- I don't know what to do ?
