yes, i think that is a great laptop and you should definately keep it. personally, i would go with a more popular brand :hp: :dell: just dont ever buy a MAC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello im glad i found someone with the exact same laptop of me becasue it is so hard to find any thing about this Balance. Well ive had mine for some months and is realy cool. this is my first laptop but i kno a lot about computers. This laptop is realy great and u should get it or keep it. Only thing is that u should use the recovery disk every three years to reinstall a fresh copy of windowsXPhome(or format the hardrive but i havent done that) so u will get the maxium performance, and also u should upgrade the ram. im not a big gamer(i play simcity 4) but if u decide to play any game then u should defragment so it will run better but i dont think the notebook have a 3d graphics card cuz wen i tried rollercoaster tycoon 3 it didnt work.

Hi i'm glad too when i see that you have the same laptop of me.I play Wolfenstein ET and work good,but i need to upgrade my memory with other 256mb (1 slot free) to 512mb.Have any ideea how to do that?
What memory i should by,and what video card is good to laptop(this one).

well im glad to finaly find info can u guys help me my bacance labtop crashed, the disks to reformat it have a big scratch in the label so i couldnt use them, so i put xp home edition from microsoft on it and am missing the drivers for sound/usb drives does anyone know a site to get the drivers from?

www.icpowerhouse.com and email them asking the site for the drivers. They actually emailed me back when i sent them one when i need to update my drivers a while back. Its the ECS website but i dont know the url and the notebook to look for when you get there is 557s. I also cant remeber the catagory its under but i thinks its somthing like value notebook or somthing like that.

i forgot to tell yal that i no longer have this notebook. Here how the story goes I was using it and i raised my leg up and the notebook fell off my lap while it was plugged into the ac adapter and it made the little thingy(pin) its connected to on the inside loose. Over time the notebook screen would flicker from dark to light if the ac adapter was moved while in use and eventuly the little pin became looser and looser till it finaly broke off. My uncle tried to get it fixed for me(he also told me it would be better to buy a new laptop with a warrenty) but of coaurse i got the bad news that it couldnt be fixed because of somthing like the circuit board inside was fried because it startet to spark. so now im using my other uncle's dell deimension 4600 desktop pc until i get me a job and save for a new laptop. i bought this one for $300 from my teacher(she got fired but not for selling it to me) which was a realy good deal and she gave me all the original packaging with it except the box(because she couldnt find it). i didnt ask for a refund or even tell her about it because its my fault it happened anyways. now im sure its in LAPTOP HEAVEN. im current thinking about buyin the compaq presario v6000t.

I have a balance laptop we took in for trade in ,it is a Model 557S and want to reload it ,the people that had it like most have no disc or know how to restore it,does anybody know anything about these or where to get the drivers.
Any help would be appreciated

Found out the balance laptop is a ecs laptop ,www.icpowerhouse.com
sent me back a link for the drivers the link did not work but looked and they had the same model numbers and the drivers worked
