Question:
4005 CPU running cool?
So I got my 4005 a few days ago. Today was its first heavy use day. By now almost 13 hours of 100% cpu-load. It never got warmer than 71 degrees celsius. From what I read that seems to be quite good?
BTW, this is just the cpu running not the GPU. computer is just crunching numbers.

Update: Until the number crunching was done it was more than 24 hours. Never above 71 degrees.

Yours does seem to run cooler than some - I saw one Ferrari running at 82, with the fans blazing...not good. But, looks like you didn't get a lemon. :)

Yeah, today I gave him a full night of rest.
I guess if CPU and GPU are doing work, the temp will get higher. It was just statistical analysis, so no graphics involved.

That doesn't seem too out of line, mine running prime95 won't go too much above 71C, perhaps 74 max.. Only in gameplay does it start to creep up on the 80C range.
However, after undervolting it using RMClock (http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml) it dops the temp under load by a good 10C at least.. And the new version seems a lot better now that it properly supports the standby mode etc..
