F.35 BIOS Flash SP30397.exe DOESN'T TAKE

Question:
F.35 BIOS Flash SP30397.exe DOESN'T TAKE
I have an hp pavilion zv5405us. I went to the downloads page for it and downloaded SP30397.exe (BIOS vF.35). I followed the instructions to a "T". It went through the process, dialogs, and shutdown as if it was successful. But upon verifying the version change, my BIOS version is still F.30.
I even tried installing it again, and it still is at F.30. I contacted hp support and they gave me the run-a-round and wasted my time, ****heads. Anyone have any advice???

I even checked the version of the BIOS in the BIOS screen to make sure in case Windows isn't reporting it correctly and it still shows F30 not F35. I even tried running SP30397.exe (F35) again, nothing. (All background apps off including AV)

Re: F.35 BIOS Flash SP30397.exe DOESN'T TAKE
About 5 different hp techs couldn't figure it out! Hours and hours of blabbing for nothing. Dumb pricks!!! I posted in forums from here to China and no one else had even a clue...
...BUT brainstretch @ r3000 forums gets the credit for this!!!
It worked for me. My checklist of things to do before flashing a new BIOS is to shut down background programs (which you did), turn off power management (set your Power Scheme to Always On), and unplug all USB devices (they've caused problems for some people). I did everything EXCEPT unplug USB devices (Antec Notebook Cooler Pad, Logitech Optical Mouse). WORKS NOW! My notebook's version is at F.35!!!
