Question:
HP dv 4000 keyboard wears out
I am posting a new pool with reference to my thread " HP dv 4000 keyboard wears out" posted before in the same section because the pool submitted with that thread was totally wrongly constructed.I will be happy to see the HP dv4000 owners joining this pool.
Note that from wearing out i mean any signifant change/ shining/ or wearing in the keyboard that makes it looking cosmatically bad. Of course i am not discussing the problem with its functionality.
Pls don,t mwntion your opinion here( for that join the original thread ), just join the pool here.thanks

Edited:12 Dec 2005, Unsuitable word 'wears out' changed to cosmetic issue!
Edited:13 Dec 2005, pool changed to poll. Sorry you can,t swim now! :D

Where's the pool? I wanna go swimmin'!

How many threads do we have to have about this? Nobody has said their keyboard was wearing out, it is cosmetic wear. "Wearing out" implies that it is getting close to failing.
You've got your answer from the other threads; the one RahulNirmal started and your previous poll. Everybody is seeing some degree of shininess. The keyboard wears; that's what happens with this type of plastic.[/rant]

The poll is looking good:)
I ordered a dv4000 just recently and have been thinking about returning it because of "it" wearing out. After doing a lot of thinking and reading I highly doubt that it is something to worry about. I'm sure a lot of people are interested in the dv4000 but are hesitating because of this. I've decided not to make a big deal out of it. Afterall, I've one read one person's irritation about the keyboard wearing out. And like so many people on here have said, it offers the most bang for your buck. If I were interested in paying $200 more for a laptop I'd buy an Asus, either the Z70va or the Z71V. As a student there are better things to spend your money on ;) They are both extremely nice looking laptops and they haven't had any issues about "wearing out", lol :D
:hp:
Please excuse me posting in this thread, I first read the above statement later :o

(EDIT)this thread is just for the poll, no new thread as i mentioned already. I don,t know how you can say it "how many threads". Even I mentioned not to write down in this thread. Also i mentioned very well what i mean by wearing out, of course a cosmetic issue I have admitted already. Just used the term wearing out as it was used in the original first thread.I hope I can clear my point. After this I will try not to discuss the matter in this thread but the original thread will continue as i see lot of people are interested. I wonder why nobody comes out to tell that he has no such cosmetic issue with this laptop?
By the way your comment " The keyboard wears; that's what happens with this type of plastic" seems thoughtful.
Sorry to bother you all. I again repeat I am just referring for acosmetic issue, even small but matters to me and I am really interested to buy it. Even one of my friends intends to go for it , his decision rests to me as well.

I think you mean POLL and not pool. They were just having a little fun with your mispelling.
As mentioned earlier, if you are concerned about this problem, please consider buying another brand/model laptop. That way it eliminates any possibility of you becoming dissatisfied if and when the problem ever occurs.
Okie dokie?
