D600 Memory on D610?

Question:
D600 Memory on D610?
Anyone knows if this would work by any chance?
I am trying to swap Memory 2 1gig memory modules from my current D600 to the new D610 I just ordered.
Here are both's system's memory specs (from Dell's site):
D600-
Package Type: 200-pin SODIMM
Speed: PC2700 / 333 MHz
Description: Standard SODIMM
D610-
Package Type: 200-pin SODIMM
Speed: PC2-4200 / 533 MHz
Description: Standard SODIMM
Thanks.

haic18,
That will work, but your RAM will only run at 333Mhz, PC2700.
I would suggest buying new RAM for the D610, you don't want to run lower than what the system is speced for.
Hope this helps.
If you want to check out the price of more RAM for your new comp, check out , they usually have some good deals.

Nope, it doesn't work, sorry. According to the info you gave, the PC2700 vs PC4200 SODIMMs don't share the same physical slot. I tried it on mine, and the PC2700 didn't fit. I'd suggest buy new DDR2 since its price is cheaper comparing to the DDR.
