any tips for my R4000
hi all
I'm getting a R4000 for christmas just wanna no is there anything i should watch as i am a teen and break everything i touch :)
So is there anything that i should take extra car of like hinges screen... anything thats prown to breaking thx alot!

Perhaps purchasing some accidental coverage wouldn't be a bad idea if you are accident prone.

No i dont have the money for that , im not talking about major damage i mean like thinks that fall of badges covers... like the batterys on sonys are always loose..

These notebooks are prett solidly built. Just be careful with as you should any notebook. I would recommend taking a look at www.notebookanalysis.com. This is a forum that has information solely on the Compaq R4000 and its twin, the HP zv6000. Good luck!

Well, as the former owner of a HP zv6000 (the Compaq's twin) and a teenager myself, I would avoid eating or drinking near the notebook (I almost spilled water on the keyboard once), and be careful with the latch - if you open and close the notebook too vigorously, you may damage it, causing it to stick.

Also, don't put anything on top of the display when it is closed - that can cause screen damage and cracks. This is especially important if you have cats. :p
Don't block the fans from intaking air, no magnets anywhere the notebook, and unplug it when you turn it off or go away - don't want to get a power surge. ;)

R4000 and Zv6000 are very solid notebooks. The fan is always on and thanks to that and to me undervolting my zv6000, it idles at 23-25 degrees!! Happy Holidays
