buying a dell

Question:
buying a dell
To buy from Dell as a small business user, do i actually need a business? do they ask? do they care?
and yesterday
when i was mock buying on over the phone, the dude quoted me a price and i said that i saw a flyer from dell that had it for 100 less, he said ok rather quickely, the flyer was correct but it was for business users. So on top of the above question, i also want to know:
Can i bs the dude today and say oh i say it for 200 off... cuz he really didn't seem to care.

you don't need a business, when asked for a business name, just put your name again.
you can attempt to get whatever discount you want.

This is a tough one. It would sound odd over the phone to say your name as your business' name. I'd try doing it over the internet so it doesn't seem as strange.

I'm a student and I just purchased a laptop from dell small business, because this is the only place the coupon would work. Dell doesn't care where you buy it from. Small business, home, whatever.. same thing.. lol

Well I was just saying that talking to someone over the phone and saying your name as the business would sound somewhat strange. It wouldn't be noticed too much if you were do it on the internet instead.

Re: buying a dell
I really don't think Dell cares either way. We've had several users use the name trick, but most of them ordered online. Like AMDvsIntel said, ordering it over the phone might be a different story. Supposedly you should be able to order your laptop from small business eventhough you don't own a business. They just have that category b/c their latitudes are geared towards business users.
