Question:
Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
I don't know much about native resolutions and lcds, but I wanted to hook up my future fujitsu s2110 with a 24" Dell lcd. Now the max resolution on the fujitsu is 1024x768 (ATI Radeon 200M). The Dell lcd has a native res of something much higher.
Does that mean I will not be able to watch movies at the native res of my lcd , and that at 1024 x 768 they will look bad ?

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
I reread the specs and realised they support an external monitor res of 1600x1200 which is definitely not widescreen. So it probably won't work with the 24" widescreen Dell.
Ach such is life.

Correct, that's a limitation of most notebooks.

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
I would assume that means it supports up to 1600x1200, which means, if you have any non-WUXGA monitors, it might work on them. Yours will support a UXGA monitor, which means it might also support a WSXGA monitor, which has less pixels.
Best,

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
i thought almost any modern notebook even with integrated graphics could support up to like 2048x****????
the tech specs for my N6210 say i can support up to 1600x1200 also but if i go to display settings it allows me to go all the way up to 2048x**** or whatever it is, i can support 1920x1200 etc. etc.
i would ask portableone.com and see what they say.

Up to 1600x1200 is all an integrated card can do.

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
hmm, i wonder if Fujitsu listed 1600x1200 for the N6210 because that is what the stock GPU driver was set to do?

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
but would it still work in his/her Dell screen with just black borders on the sides of the screen?
maybe perhaps 3rd party (modified) drivers from gaming sites work.

Re: Fujitsu s2110 with 24" lcd native resolution stuff
I've hooked up to a 1366x768 26 inch LCD TV and it worked just fine. I don't know if you can push it beyond 1600x1200 or not, but widescreen shouldn't be a problem, though I did have to download powerstrip to manually set the resolution, since it was non-standard.
