Question:
5720 3dmark06 score
For anyone who can't see that, I got 3412 3dmarks with the new 3dmark06.
SM2.0 Score=1527
HDR/SM3.0 Score=1519
CPU Score= 859
My specs are: 2.00ghz, 2gb of RAM, 7200rpm HD, 7800 gtx with the 79.31 drivers.
My old drivers ( 82.12 with performance mod ) gave me about 100 points higher in the 05, but gave me problems with FEAR.
For all you overachievers out there, you can probably reach the 4000 mark with some overclocking and good drivers.

Re: 5720 3dmark06 score
I hit 3360 with no O/C on my 5720. I wasn't too impressed with 06. It seems to be a recycled version of 05 with a few extra videos. I was hoping for more originality from 06.

Re: 5720 3dmark06 score
Nice to see someone already started this thread.
I got 3421 stock configuration and 81.94 drivers (no problems with FEAR).
Seems consistent with the others who have tested.
I was particularly impressed with the 760's CPU score as it compared to my overclocked Athlon64 San Diego core running at 2.65GHz in my desktop which scored a not too much higher 1021 on the CPU score. I would have thought the score difference between the A64 would have been greater.
Overall I don't see this new benchmark having any significant comparitive value for running current games since my desktop system with an overclocked X800Pro (1959 in 3DMark06) plays most games, including BF2, smoother and faster at same settings than the Sager 5720. It could be partially to do with the desktop having an Audigy2 soundcard as well but since the 3DMark05 scores were much closer together I think this 06 benchmark will be better at predicting performance in future games that use shader 3.0, HDR, and utilize multi-core cpus.

Re: 5720 3dmark06 score
I used to have the 81.94 drivers, no problems with FEAR. I used Driver Cleaner Professional since all these forums recommended it, and i upgraded to that 82.12, and after maybe 10-20 minutes of playing FEAR, it would go down to like 5fps.
I used driver cleaner, and went back to the 81.94. Same problem. I think if you never used this driver cleaner, and you upgraded from an old driver, part of that driver still exists that lets the game run normally?
I know its not a heating issue because some person with the same card had the same problem with 81.94.
Mastha212, did you do anything else besides overclock? Any good drivers you installed or whatever?

Re: 5720 3dmark06 score
Just a question - what resolution did you run 3DMark06 at?
I think it conforms to your monitor's native resolution.
With my X700 256MB OC'ed, I got 973 marks at a 1280x1024 resolution.

No, nothing. I recommend XtremeG 81.95 v2.25 MobileForce Drivers - they give you highest score in 3dmarks. GPU @ 480/1300. Resolution 1280x1024.

Chazman, I just downloaded the program and ran the free one. It was the same resolution as yours.

ChazMan421: 3DMark runs the tests in the same resolution regardless of platform for consistent results.
steMo: Do the NVidia drivers change any firmware settings in the card itself? Frame rates dropping sounds too much like a heat and auto-throttling issue to ignore. The card will throttle down when overheated to save itself. I suspect the drivers determine what those settings will be. It's possible that something that was set in the 82.12 drivers that wasn't unset by installing the 81.94 drivers. Possibly now that you've installed 79.31 you could go back to 81.94 without issues.
