HP Cheating on Turion laptop Batteries

Question:
HP Cheating on Turion laptop Batteries
I read in few threads before about battery being smaller capacity in Turion laptops. But I thought, may be just people were guessing. I never thought HP will go as far as making similar batteries with lower capacity specially for Turion.
But I now I know it directly, It is so disgusting HP( and Intel) going with such lousy politics. They do not want Turion laptops to do same as Intel laptop in battery life, so simply put smaller battery.
So, which batteries I am talking about?
DV1000/V2000 and V2000z/L2000.
DV1000 and V2000 comes with Batteries
rated at 10.8v 4400mAH,
where as simlilar( exact same fit and size) battery in
L2000/V2000z comes with
rating 10.8v with 4000mAH,
so directly 10% lower capacity than Intel model. That translates into 20min of battery life and that is the difference in battery life we are seeing between Intel and Turion models.
Ofcourse I know HP does not advertise Turion models at all, that is fine probably they do not have marketing money from AMD, but I think going this far to show AMD Turion inferior in battery life is down right disgusting.
It is really unfortunate that a superior product is not being given a proper chance to prove it.

For what it's worth, my v2405ca (v2000z - Sempron 3000+) comes equipped with a 10.8V 4.4 AHr/4400 mAHr battery.
The battery module model is: HSTNN-LB09

If so, it is possible, it might have been mistaken. Because all L2000/V2000z notebooks sofar I have seen/heard only came with 4000mAH.

Re: HP Cheating on Turion laptop Batteries
Yes, the AHr rating and the model number are printed on the battery.
It would be interesting if other Canadian V24xx series owners could chime in. Interestingly the Pentium M/Celeron M V2000 models were never available in Canada.

Hmm,
It is possible. But I am also guessing may be this has been done with laptops having Turions, not the Semprons.

I think HP started switching the AMD machines over to the proper 4.4AHr batteries after they were caught. Has anyone who purchased a V2000z or L2000 this year received the 4.0AHr battery?
partsurfer.hp.com lists both 4.0AHr and 4.4AHr batteries as official parts.

partsurfer.hp.com lists both 4.0AHr and 4.4AHr batteries as official parts. Mine came with 10.8V 4.0AHr.
When did they change it? can we get it replaced? My v2000z was delivered mid-Dec. 2005.
I didn't know they changed it. All the while I thought all V2000Z only comes with 4.0AHr battery

Re: HP Cheating on Turion laptop Batteries
I bought in september and has 10.8V 4.0aAHr battery.
But I checked DV1000 and some V2000 models in local stores, they do have proper 4.4Ahr battery.
And these two are interchangable without any problem as they sell same battery for DV1000 as well as L2000 which is 4.4Ahrs.
Yes, it is possible they might have changed to proper 4.4Ahr battery this year.
May be we can create a poll with Year and Capacity of the battery for V2000z and L2000 and see the responses.
