It could be several things. Might be caused by junkware or bad drive if you have the sony drive.
What is the error message saying?

for battlefield 2 it simply says battlefield 2 installation failed, try again from the beginning, and its just a cycle it never works. Star wars says some weird stuff about redundancy error data.2.cab. This is just mind boggling that this is an absolutely brand new computer and it is not working. WTF IS GOING ON!!! this should not be happening.

Sanca,
I had the same problem, but with WoW...you have to uninstall the burning program...I don't remember what it was called....it is like Sonic or something. Once I did that, all went well.
Try that and see if it works.

Do you think that will work for bf2 and the star wars game. Also, there are like 7 sonic programs, which ones do you recommend I uninstall? What wont I be able to do once these programs are uninstalled? Frankly, im extremely disappointed. This is a brand new computer from dell and it should be running flawlessly out of the box. This is just ridiculous.Do all 9300's have the same problem?

Usually most complaints are because of the junkware. You'll be surprise how much junkware is on there. IMO, i would just do a clean install as soon as you get it.
If you want to uninstall Sonic, you can always call dell and request the Sonic disk so you can reinstall.

AOL, Quickbooks trialware, Google stuff.
It is basically free or trial software that has a contract with Dell. Dell puts it on the laptops. I guess you could think of it as advertising.
Problem is that when you get your laptop, generally all of this software is set to turn on and run. So it is taking up a ton of resources from your CPU and RAM.
If you aren't familiar with reformatting, then the guide has some tips and suggestions. I also wrote it so that it is a step by step in case if you aren't sure.
If you have reformatted before, then it is the exact same process -- might want to read about the drivers and software though.

The only thing is now, I have to wait prolly a week for the Xp media center cd and the drivers disk because they didnt give them out anymore. And once I get these cd's im unsure where to install the drivers. Is there someway I can get rid of all the junkware without doing a clean install of media center? Thanks

Re: i9300,brand new, cant install games!!?!?!?!?
im surprised you havent tried windows update. Maybe the computer doesn't come with the updated installer for windows.
Otherwise, I already know what is your problem. A redundancy error during installation is a bad read from the media. I usually get those when the cd is scratched up, but in this case, your cd drive may be bad? I'd download alcohol 120 and try to image those files onto your hard drive as a file, then mount it with daemon tools 4. Or even easier, try dragging those files over (i think that should be a good test to see if the drive works, BF2 has weak cd checks)
I'll keep updated on this thread to help you out
