Fujitsu N6220 vs. Acer TM8104AWLMi

Question:
Fujitsu N6220 vs. Acer TM8104AWLMi
I'm about to purchase a new laptop to replace my desktop. The catch is that it is temporary (6-months to 1-year) during that time I'll rebuild a new desktop and hand the laptop over to my wife (she is a basic user, email, web, documents, etc).
I'm looking at the Fujitsu N6220 and Acer TravelMate TM8104AWLMi. Here are the specs from Newegg.com (where I buy from since they are so great):

Which would you people get? They each have what I'm looking for, but missing something else. The problem is that I need something powerful enough for video-editing and light-to-medium gaming.
Fujitsu has the great screen (17" too) and two hard drive bays, but only an X600 (although 128MB dedicated + 128MB shared = 256MB) and the drives are only ATA-6, 4200RPM.
Acer has a non-coated screen (15.4"), but faster processor, 1GB RAM, X700 (dedicated 128MB) and 100GB 5400RPM SATA drive.
I've only heard great things about Fujitsu, and mostly good comments about Acer. That's the kicker there. Otherwise I would fully be behind the Acer. I'm just not sure of the screen, build quality and heat issues (under the touchpad and keyboard area).
Any thoughts?
Thanks people.

Fujitsu's quality is superior and the screens are at the top of the scale. Acer offers more overall power for your needs. I hate to do this, but the Dell i9300 might be a good short term solution. It'll be cheaper, but brings a decent display and all the power you could want. If you're in a position to wait though, you might consider holding out another month or so.

I would also go for the Fujitsu, for the as previously mentioned higher build and screen quality.

If mobility is a concern, the Acer is much lighter. If you want to look at something good like the Acer, the Asus Z70va would be on my list. Keep in mind when buying at NewEgg, there are no returns and at least seven dead pixels for an exchange. Good Luck.

i can recommend the N6220, but if you are going to give it to your wife you should be more worried about what she wants i think. ask her if she wants to carry it around alot

Thanks everyone. I trust newegg.com, I've used other places in the past, but newegg is the only consistant ones to use.
I really like the Fujitsu, (I played with the exact model at a retail store here locally) and think that it would do everything that I need it to do for the time that I have it. I really love that screen, even under all the flourescent lights it still was beautiful.
I like the Acer because of the cost, it is 64-bit ready and it has a X700 vs. X600. But the Fujitsu is in the running for my money right now, even if it is a few hundred more.
My wife doesn't do nearly as much as I do on the computer, so whatever specs that I get, she'll be more than happy with. I think she would appreciate the larger screen too.
Thanks everyone.

On the New Egg issue, their return policy is the worst in the market for notebooks, I'd really consider buying from someone else. If you go Fujitsu try www.portableone.com

"...I need something powerful enough for video-editing and light-to-medium gaming."
I have a Fujitsu n6010 and I highly recommend the n series. You won't see any difference between the x600 and the x700 for video editing. The same goes for light-to-medium gaming... if you were after high-end gaming, then it would be a different story.
I also think that you'll appreciate the dual hard drives since, as you probably already know, you can never have enough hard drive space when doing video work.
And I'm certainly not trying to insult Acer owners (I used to be one) but if you look at the overall picture, Fujitsu's quality is, without a doubt, better.
Then again, you could choose something entirely different by getting a small laptop with an external monitor and hard drive (both of which can be transferred to your desktop later on) and save yourself a bundle of money. Getting an n6220 or Acer 8104 for a temporary fix seems very expensive if it's just going to end up as a word processor/e-mail machine. But if you've got the money....

For video editing, I would suggest a 7200RPM hard drive.
