Question:
Asus Z70VA / M6VA for sale advice
I'm considering selling this because I never use it.
It's in perfect like new condition and has all the original packaging.
What would be better? Sell it complete or "part it out" on eBay?

Re: Asus Z70VA / M6VA for sale advice
When did you buy it ?
How much did you pay?
Is there a valid OS and License if so which?
Do you know what the Manufacturer Date is ? (Maybe still under the 1 year warranty check the bottom might be listed there also there is a formula in the serial number to figure out asus manfacturer dates based on the serial number. We have the formula here somewhere I'll see if I can find it)
The biggest hassell for you is going to be parting it out on ebay and dumping the actual barebone unit. The RAM and Harddrive (7200RPM) I would think would be a quick sell. The CPU next and ... well the wireless only cost about $25 new so not much there. The optical and barebone is going to tough because the parts will only work for anyone looking for them for a Z70A or Z70V model. These were decent models build and sold many of them. Out of about 60 I have only replacement parts for one. I hope this helps but I think you would be able sell faster and easier as a whole unit. If you could find buyers for the all the parts then that might bring a higher return but man what a pain.
Good Luck

Hi,
I've decided to sell it as a complete laptop.
Got about $1300 in it. What would be a fair price for it?
What would I expect to get for it on eBay?
Thanks, Nick

Re: Asus Z70VA / M6VA for sale advice
Nick,
Well, I'd look at what retail would have been when you bought it and consider yourself lucky to get 50% of retail for it, regardless of condition. When a laptop is in perfect condition like yours is, you're better off trying to find a friend of family member that can see that and give you a decent buck for it. But, on Ebay, laptops are a dime a dozen unfortunately and sometimes you luck out, however I'd heard of more success from customers and forum members who sold theirs to people they know who are impressed with the notebook for close to what they have into it. I know that with the W2s, a LOT of people sold their W2v's after 4-5 months of use to people they knew for exactly what they paid, if not more... mainly because that's one notebook that looks so much more expensive in person..

Hi, I'm back.
Getting ready to set up my auction for this notebook.
I normally don't ship to Canada but making an exception because this notebook seems to be very popular for students.
I do not have a PayPal account (and never will).
I would accept BidPay or a Money Order from USPS/Canada Post.
What would be the best way to ship it? NOTE: I will not forge customs forms.
Any opinions or suggestions?
Thanks, Nick

Auction's over. Got $760.00 for it. Little embarrassing, actually. Expected more for it. I might have been better off keeping it.
