Question:
cant connect to internet
so im trying ot get stuff goin on my new d620. Im no computer wiz mind you. And i cant get it to connect. it detects the signal wirelssly, but doesnt connect properly. and Even with me just plugging a ethernet cord into it, internet explorer still wont come up wiht anything. any help woudl be greatly apreciated.

hmm you would certainly need to give more information for anyone to assist you.
can you provide information such as your OS and your wireless internet setup?
ill assume you have windows. if you have windows xp pro that might be important.
type 192.168.1.1 into internet explorer when the laptop is "connected"
type "admin" for the username and password (no quotes)

Is it giving you the "limited connectivity" message? So the little connected icon in the taskbar has an exclamation mark.

i think its the intel prowireless 802.1ag card, and its xp pro. i typed in that number and the browser was just lbank

Alright i got my internet to work wiht a cable. I found out tha tht ethernet card just was turned off for battery reasons. but Wireless is still giving me problems.

I just got a laptop as well and I am getting this message when i connect to the internet. What should I do? BTW i have windows xp pro if that matters.

yes it has limited or no conectivity, but has a full signal.

If it works with a cable, but not wirelessly, it's most likely wireless security which is causing the problem. It could be anything from not having the correct WEP or WPA key entered to something like MAC address filtering. You'll have to go into your wireless router's setup and check your wireless security settings.
