Inspiron 6400 dual core @ 667mhz???

Question:
Inspiron 6400 dual core @ 667mhz???
I can afford a Dell Inspiron 6400 dual core with this config:
Intel® Core™ Duo Proc T2050 (1.60GHz/533MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache) [Included in Price]
BUT, I want 667mhz memory/bus speed without having to pay the extra $75 for a faster processor. If I drop in 667mhz memory, will it automatically run the system bus @ 667mhz (and thereby slightly raising cpu speed)? Any ideas?

I don't think so.

If you drop in 667mhz memory, it will not automatically run the system bus 667mhz, it will un the system bus 533mhz.

Not the other way around.

why is the FSB so low in Dell Laptops? It sounds like a ripoff.

^ It's no different then any other notebooks. In the 1.6ghz CPU it only has a 533FSB. It's different than the other 1.66 ghz CPU that runs at 667mhz FSB.

What will you be using the notebook for? $75 isn't a bad price at all to go from a T2050 to a T2400, perhaps wait a bit until you can afford that upgrade. It's odd that Dell doesn't offer the T2300E processor.

the memory speed will have no noticeable affect on performance, your benchmarks will look slightly better, but real world apps, you wont be able to tell anything

It's odd that Dell doesn't offer the T2300E processor. My system has T2300E. I noticed Dell stopped offering this processor in early July. Weird! I wonder why?
