HP warranty
this may sound cheesy.. but my hp dv1000 is almost 1yr old, and the warranty is about to expire. while only several months old, the system board was replaced by HP. im not a heavy user, so this unit will serve me for quite a while longer. and so im thinking it will be good to have an extended warranty. can i buy HP extended warranty for my almost 1 yr old unit?

i did that once with an older HP notebook i used to own. it wasn't almost a year old, but i did find out that as long as the notebook is under warranty right now you should be able to upgrade it.
look for the "complete care" kits on hp's service website...you should find the warranty pack there.

Yes, you can purchase the extended warranty up until the end of the standard warranty(1yr). So as long as you are within tht period you can purchase the warranty...
