I need HELP ASAP!
My Dell e1505 this morning would not start up properly. I was infected with some sort of log in/ log off LOOP, which meant my computer logged off immediately after log in, which means i couldn't access my desktop. I tried several restarts, and nothing, so i researched on the internet and found this fix, using the dell XP reinstall CD Recovery system:
copy C:\windows\system32\config\system C:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy C:\windows\system32\config\software C:\windows\tmp\software.bak
copy C:\windows\system32\config\sam C:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy C:\windows\system32\config\security C:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy C:\windows\system32\config\default C:\windows\tmp\default.bak
delete C:\windows\system32\config\system
delete C:\windows\system32\config\software
delete C:\windows\system32\config\Sam
delete C:\windows\system32\config\security
delete C:\windows\system32\config\default
copy C:\windows\repair\system C:\windows\system32\config\system
copy C:\windows\repair\software C:\windows\system32\config\software
copy C:\windows\repair\sam C:\windows\system32\config\sam
copy C:\windows\repair\security C:\windows\system32\config\security
copy C:\windows\repair\default C:\windows\system32\config\default
Everything worked fine except:
copy C:\windows\repair\system C:\windows\system32\config\system
Error: File not found (i tried severall times, no file found)
So i searched the windows repair directory on the CD and thier was no system repair file, but instead a system.bak file, so i was stupid and decided to run my own replacement with the system.bak file, so i did a:
copy C:\windows\repair\system.bak C:\windows\system32\config\system, and the file copied succesfully, however now i get a BSOD 0x0000007B...
What do I do? HELP!

i have a similar problem with an old desktop right now, does anyone know how to fix it?
Is there any important data on the laptop?

if you have a desktop available (or another notebook), i would suggest getting a 2.5" external enclosure, plug in your drive, and copy the data.
there has to be an easier way though...do that as a last resort

yeah i on my desktop... i wouldnt be able to go on the internet if i was on my e1505
