Question:
Looking for FE Series users experiences! [Spanish Newcomer]
Hello there!
My name is Juan, I´m a spanish student. First of all, sorry my poor english, it may be a bit annoying for you guys.
I came to this forum searching for some info of my (decided at 80%) next laptop, a Sony Vaio VGN FE 28B. I think the European model doesn´t agree with yours, maybie someone of you could tell me wich is the equivalent.
Now I own a Ferrari 3000. Has been with me for the last 2 and a half years, and instead I´m only 22 years old, it has been the worst purchase in my whole life. Hot as an oven, the cooling system is ALLWAYS ON... When I say allways, I mean every second of his life. Don´t want to talk about customer service...
Here are the specs of the FE28B:
I can't help but the english is very good.
Thanks!!! :)

Wow...Juan,
I didn't know that the Acer top of the line product was so bad. I just saw it as a computer expo here yesterday...
Anyway, I've always had lousy reports from friends who've used Acer but a lot more have raved about their Fujitsus and Sony machines. (This is arguable since there hasn't been a true statistic/survey.)
May I know why you're going for the Sony FE?
Perhaps a post in the notebook recommendation portion of the forums would help you?
And oh by the way, your English is way better than a huge percentage of the people over here despite the fact that I'm in an English as a first language country. :)
Welcome to the notebook forums.

Juan,
I have had my FE for 3 weeks now. I am very very very happy with it, i consider it the most "portable" 15.4 inch laptops after the macbook pro. The screen is beautiful and the laptop is very well built. Since the keyboard is white I always have to wash my hands before using it (it made me a cleaner person ;) ) If you plan on carrying it around a lot I would maybe go with an FJ. If not , FE is a great choice! Be sure to get it with the NVidia 7600, you never know when it may come handy! Good luck,
totono

Juan, the model you posted is an older one.
The newer one has a faster processor and more powerful graphics card.
Get the newer one!
This is a very nice machine, and I think that you will be very happy owning it.
The screen is excellent, and the weight is balanced.

Hello again guys! Thanks for the answers :)
Maybie the market runs slower in spain, probably the older model in the states is the new one here... Following Totono recomendation, I searched the spanish market for the FJ series, and I only found a crappy Pentium M one...
Today i´ve seen one FE in a local store, and well... I´m completely decided!!! I´ll buy pne as soon as the Ferrari gets sold (that´s going to be veeery soon!)
The FE with the 7600 graphics ir way expensive (for my budjet)... 1500€, about 300€ (400 bucks) more than the one I showed you before (1200€)...
There´s only one thing that I would like to ask... I have to choose between a FE with 100GB Sata 5400 drive or another one with 160GB unspecified drive, wich I assume IDE, and about 100€ more...
With 100GB I have space enough, and love the Sata performance, but 160GB sounds very good when reselling...
Thanks again people!!! I´m willing to hear the comments :)

Hi Nerete,
160GB HD (Fujitsu) has SATA interface too, but it is a 4200 rpm HD only e.g. quite slow. The second con is a high of HD case: 12.5 mm instead of usual 9.5 mm, e.g. there is no external 2.5 inch case for such an HD on the market, if you want to use it as an external HD.
I suggest you buy FE with 100 GB hard drive.
If you could wait until the end of September, do it: new SONY FE31 laptops are on the way.
