Alienware Makes There Move? CheckMate?
Alienware has made the move to put the New Core 2 Duo in the notebook's for the same price they were before as a normal core duo. Has Alienware really made the right move to attract business? Is Alienware actually worth buying now? :eek:

???? Alienware is probably paying around the same for the Core 2 Duo, as the Core Duo, so I don't think it is a big marketing ploy.
Whether Alienware is worth it or not is up to the individual purchaser. The newer notebook line - m5550 and m5750 are reasonably priced when you compare to other systems. It's really a matter of personal preference...

I don't understand the question . . the prices for the Core 2 Duo should have been the exact same as the Core Duo anyway, so Alienware did the right thing not charging any more.

The Core 2 Duo was always meant to be priced exactly the same as the Core Duos. It's no ploy. You can expect to see the same with all other laptop sellers--with the exception of a premium charged for early C2D chips when supply is low.

I don't understand the question . . the prices for the Core 2 Duo should have been the exact same as the Core Duo anyway, so Alienware did the right thing not charging any more. he's just trying to sound funny as if the normal notebooks were overpriced to begin with.. even tho ive proved countless times on this forum that with the exception of the mlx, there is little price difference...
