Question:
concerns about W7J
hey guys,
as many of you may know, especially to W7J owners, the touch pad is kinda gay... they used the same material as the shell of the laptop, so the touchpad part is kinda annnoying if you have sweaty hands and when the laptop gets a bit hot....
is there a way to fix it?
maybe put some protection sticker on it?..lol
thanks

I don't get how sweaty hands will cause a problem. Does your palm accidently "stick" to the touch pad and move the cursor? If that's the case, just use the function key to disable the touch pad.

nono, one of the known cons for W7J was it's touchpad... it's not as smooth as other touchpads coz of it's material..
just wondering if there's any solution to it

Re: concerns about W7J
Well gay means either to be happy or a man who likes other men...neither are negative terms so perhaps you may want to consider omitting such langauge next time. That said you are only the second person to complain about the w7 touch pad....at least as far as I can remember, the first one was a serial ASUS bashing spamer...who is now banned for life...touch wood.
So most users seem to be happy with its responsiveness...I also would like to see any notebook touch pad that works well with wet hands. That said, many users have suggested increasing the sensitivity to help combat the wet hand issue.
Or do like i do...wipe your finger on your shirt...takes about 2sec's and then everything is back to normal.

No, I understand....... with any touchpad on a hot and humid day, you could have issues with it recognizing touch....... it's not just the touch of your finger, but the pressure and friction basically.. if your finger is sweaty, you can glide over that touchpad and the cursor may not want to follow. I don't usually see that as a "problem", but if you just dry off your hand, you'll usually be fine. I don't sweat a lot, but I see this if I wash my hands and just dry them off on my pants a little and then go back to using a laptop.... that sort of wettness doesn't help.

Bumping the sensitivity up from default settings really does a good job of increasing responsiveness. Touchpad works well, IMO.

If the touchpad is gay, then it must be male since RoughMonk likes it :D
