Question:
DELL D620 Display
If anyone is interested in the D620 here is some info you may find useful. Co-worker sitting next to me just received a Dell D620 as a replacement for his older non-widescreen latitude. The native resolution of 1440 doesnt really seem realistic to use on a regular basis. Moving the resolution down to 1280x800 made the desktop more viewable however he picture is extremely grainy which also leaves it non usable. If anyone had any experience with it let me know if they have had any success in using something other than 1440

Re: DELL D620 Display
There's a world record complaint thread about the D620 screens over on the Dell Forums (where most posts are lucky to get one reply). 47 pages, 470 posts:

I've seen one of the screens in question (the D620 is our corporate standard) and it's much worse than my wife's cheap (AU$800 / US$500) Acer.
Dell has always cut corners, but this time it cut too far. On its business line too !

Re: DELL D620 Display
since my school gives such a good deal on dell d620,
i went to check it out at a store in my school.
its display was very... how should i put this.. terrible.
the display was so dull and grainy that it gave me
eye strain only after 10 minutes of usage.
also alot of people say that its build quality is very good..
but i couldn't see that either.

how's the d620's screen different from the 640m's? I use a 640m with TFT and it doesnt look too bad to me.

Re: DELL D620 Display
i think if all of you reread the original post, it's about resolution being too small and not the quality of the LCD
