Question:
Black screen ????
Earlier today I accidently unplugged the AC cord from my notebook and when I looked to plug it back in the screen was black.I thought maybe it went into hibernation or standby, but when I tried to bring it back out the screen was still black and nothing I did worked. So I took out the battery to shut it down(cause it wouldn't otherwise) and started up again everthing was fine. So I did it on purpose just to see if maybe if I had jarred it or something and the samething happened again.Everything runs fine, but I'm curious if something is wrong or has anyone ever had this happen to them.

(also, you should be able to just hold the power button down until the computer turns off, you don't have to take the batt out)
p.s., i haven't seen the phillip island motogp race yet, but it looks like it's going down to the wire !!! hayden may psych himself right out of the championship :P

Well I can replicate it... Computer running, pull the AC cord out. done--black screen.
I rarely go on battery only, so I'm not worrying about it.

You might try reflashing your BIOS. I can't guarantee that this will fix your problem, but worth a try.

Re: Black screen ????
Reezin14 did your computer go into standby then the power lead came out if so it could be this problem.
It could be the bug that all mobile computers have.
The monitor does not turn on when you move the mouse or press any key after you configure the "Power Options" settings on a Windows XP-based portable computer
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You have a Microsoft Windows XP-based portable computer that uses a dual-core processor or that uses an Intel Pentium 4 Processor that supports Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology). You use Power Options in Control Panel to configure the computer to enter a standby or a hibernation state when you close the lid. You also configure the computer to turn off the monitor after a period of inactivity.
In this scenario, the computer correctly enters a standby or a hibernation state after you close the lid, and then the computer correctly resumes activity when you reopen the lid. Also, the monitor turns off correctly after the period of inactivity that you specify. However, the monitor does not turn on again when you move the mouse or press any key.
