Question:
Considering an LG...?
Dear all,
Considering getting a LG LS50-CSVA for about $2279 (in Australia).
Or else a LS50-WTPA for $2449 (with supermulti drive and 1.7ghz cpu).
Haven't heard anything bad about LG as yet - but most ppl are telling me not to trust LG cos of their bad rep with cars/tvs/sound systems..
Wat do u all think? They do look nice tho.. but i wouldnt mind a brighter screen - I've noticed some of the Toshibas and Sony look a lot clearer and brighter.
Cheers all!
Answer:
Actually LG joined IBM notebook devision and afaik they manufactor them togther ( LG works for IBM ) .
The one I've seen seemed very solid with 3 years warranty and the build was good for the 1 minute I looked at it .
The screen on the other hand was nothing to be thrilled about and I say it as one that has a screen with 1 degree viewing angle ( satellite 1410 ) .
Answer:
From what i understand LG manufacturers notebooks *for* IBM. I'd recommend LG notebooks from my experiences with the LM50, it's been a solid machine - I've never seen the LS, but I imagine it would be similar in quality.

Answer:
Again, the service I've had from LG in Canada is far better than i've seen from any other electronics/computer company.
Although it sounds like it's a different story in Isreal, it's not fair for you to run around posting on every thread saying "LG service sucks!"

Answer:
I agree with ennoia ... one unfortunate LG notebook from Isreal isn't enough to justify that all LG notebooks are unreliable.
Answer:
Hi
You have been at the lab of the importer of LG or at the service place , to know it for sure ?

Answer:
Hello everyone,
I just purchased the ls50-ac6u1 for $1550 canadian.
Considering all features, and what i needed it was perfect for me.
I wouldnt be too concerned about the brand as a whole.
Companies put more focus into some of their product lines than others.
I checked everything else out there and the Lg was one of my favorites.
And of course as with all electronics, someones going to have a nightmare story to tell.
(I have heard it all I work at a major electronics store)
