Graphics Driver 8204

Question:
Graphics Driver 8204
Hi,
What is the best graphics driver for the 8204?
I have just tried installing the Catalyst Mobility 6.9 drivers and its started all sorts od screwey thingsd happening.
I need something that is well supported and stable as i use a lot of CAD (AutoCAD and Catia) and they are a bit funny with the driver files etc. so i would imagine the OMEGA drivers are out.
But also i want to be able to get some decent frame rates in games. I have been trying to download the 6.8 but cant get a link anymore. Is it worth using the Catalyst desktop drivers with the hack to get them to work or the 6.9 and put up with the screwey issues?
cheers

You mean the ATI Catalyst Mobility can work for your 8204?
It's not compatible why my 8215, and only omega drivers work for me.

Re: Graphics Driver 8204
According to me, the best is catalyst 6.8. It allows OC and powerplay utilty.
higher version of CCC, crashed my lappy when I tried powerplay

Just tried the new omega based on the cat 6.9 , it gave me a BSOD on windows startup everytime.
similarly, tried to use dhmodtool on cat 6.9, same thing happened.

I've had no issues using the Omega 6.8 Drivers, I'd not tried the 6.9 drivers yet (and given mrboliao's comments, not sure I'll bother trying them).

I've noticed that on the 6.9 drivers, the WMV corruption I posted about a while back has been fixed. Was it new to the 6.9's or were they already fixed on 6.8 and if so, you wouldn't still happen to have the installer? :D
Also, as my post on DH Forums says:
The problem has changed now to that 6.9 drivers, when installed, will not allow the system come out of standby properly. Closing my lid on my laptop to put it into standby results in the computer unable to come out of it. It seems this new problem is universal to the Cat 6.9 drivers, modded or not (I've tested official ATI Cat 6.9, DHzer0point 0.69, and Omega 3.82791, each time with a clean installation).
I've since gone back to Cat 6.7's.

I do still have the installer, but not sure i have any way to get it to you, it's too big to e-mail around.
Unfortunately I've no idea what WMV thing you are talking about, if it's the Windows Media Player thing then that might be an issue anyway, since I refuse to use that DRM piece of *#$@.
If you have a video that has the issue that is web downloadable, then I might be interested in seeing if I have it and can let you know.

It's actually codec specific to WMV9 (and I suppose HD). I think the card only hardware accelerates those because I never had problems with streaming WMV files.
If you use AIM or MSN, you could transfer it to me through there. My AIM is SiCViRaL, MSN is reaper91@hotmail.com

Opps, my bad, I checked and have 3.8.273 drivers on my laptop, which checking into the numbers is actually the catalyst 6.7 drivers, so same as you had from the sounds of it.

Ah, yes I am on the 6.7's. Oh well, I will wait for 6.10 and keep hoping ATI doesn't **** up.
