-Confused about Warranty

Question:
-Confused about Warranty
The model that I am getting has 1-year base warranty.
However, I really want to purchase the Thinkpad Accident Protection Plan.
So->
If I purchase a 4 year accident protection plan, does it mean that I would automatically have 4 yrs of warranty? or do i have to purchase the 4 yr standard warranty in addition to the 4 yr accident protection plan (which would result in a ridiculous hike in price)?
Answer:

4-Year ThinkPad Protection with 1-Year to 4-Year IOR 9x5 NBD [add $569.00] I admit it I am confused. What do I need? When I went looking to buy the T60 in the stores in Hong Kong the models came with what they said was a 3 year international warranty.
Now this is what I need and is very important as I will be buying in the states online and having it brought over to me here in China.
If I buy online does that mean:
1. there is no warranty at all until I pick and purchase one of the listed options?
2. there is no international warranty?
3. which warranty am I talking about if it is listed?
4. what is really needed and not just money down the drain (especially in my position as I am in China)?
Thanks for clearing this up (I know somebody will).

Re: -Confused about Warranty
Warranty service upgrades is for business purchase.
Extended service contracts is for personal purchase.
for Protection services, I dont think includes basic warranty, and it should be based on either extended service or warranty service upgrade.
also, when I talked to sale representative, he told me we can only upgrade once for warranty. all thinkpads have one year warranty unless u upgrade to 3
years by telling them or choose it online.
And, I believe all warrantys listed there are international warranty. However, in china mainland or HK, they will request the invoice to proof some non-sense things before starting the service. But, since you are a Canadian, I think u just need to show them ur Canadian ID is enought. If they rejest your machine purchased from North America, you can try to talk to their supervisor or someone is in higher position.
