Alienware lagging?
Is it me or is Alienware lagging in their configurations? Why can't you get a 512MB 7900GTX with any of their AMD notebooks? Sager gives you these options along w/other companies.

I do find that strange, since Alienware tryies to be ahead of upgrade trends. Maybe you should email them to make light of why they are lagging on the upgrades.
Although judging from the the other countries that Alienware sells to, this particular model is missing compared to the USA site of Alienware.
They might be phasing this model out.... :(

I would call them but they will only give me the old "well, we have to test everything first to ensure that everything works the way that it should," line. Frankly, it's BS! I wanna know why and there's not one **** person there that can tell me why. I'm pretty disappointed. Maybe i'll email them anyways.

gophn you could be right they maybe phasing out their model but if they are they would hint it on their site by showcasing the new models as in hp dont u think?

I'd guess it is a marketing decision...to push folks interested in gaming machines to the m9700 or mALX...

its def. a marketing decision... they want the higher end laptops to be more exclusive than laptops like the 5500.... same idea with cars... why do you think they offer more options for the 7 series and not the 3?

If its a marketing decision than they are making a mistake. They are pushing potential clients away. Who wouldn't want to configure their computer(within reasonable guidlines and practises) the way they want it?! AW & I, it's a love, hate relationship!

lol...that is funny, although irrelevant. Alienware has actually released quite a few new systems in the last few months...perhaps they don't have all the configurations we might like, but there are lots of options to choose from.
