I believe you need to adjust the gamma. If you have photoshop, use adobe gamma...otherwise powerstrip may work.

Re: Inspiron E1505 :screen problem
I don't think Gamma adjustment can change the screen's contrast. If the screen looks bad due to different brand 's quality, you might want to call dell and ask for another screen.
I don't know which screen brand in E1505 has the highest quality in producing color and contrast. i only know E1705 LG screen is the best (of E1705 line) out there.

How will adjusting the gamma in Photoshop do anything? The program comes with a tool called "adobe gamma". It lets you adjust the screen.
If you are within the 15 day window, have a different screen put it and see if you like it better. They can be hit and miss.

Thanks a lot! With some reason, I don't have Adobe Gamma but I probably could find it soon. I have used it to adjust the screeen on my old desktop. So I think that will do the job. I just wasn't thinking about it. Thanks a lot!
