It works just fine for me except the monitor that seems to be too bringht and lack of Contrast. I mostly use this computer for the following software.

I had one for about six months. No complaints. The computer was exactly what it was billed to be: cheap, dependable, solid (but thick/plastic) I had no problems playing games/connecting to internet/doing office tasks. I got about 3:45 on the 9 cell doing basic tasks. It's a good notebook for the price.

I've been very happy so far with mine (T2250, X1400, 80GB HDD)...runs very quiet & stays cool (GPU peaks at 67°C during COD2 play) during intense usage. Is pretty darn quick with the Core Duo, and the X1400 is a great step up from integrated GPU's...
The only real complaint I've had is that the HDD is noisy sometimes, with audible mechanical clicks and loud (relatively speaking) beeps...while kind of worrisome at first, it appears to be a somewhat common issue and it doesn't bother me.
I'd recommend the E1505...

You have to remember that more people are going to be telling people about problems with their laptops than people without problems. It's like the saying about business, treat someone right and they will tell a few of their friends, treat someone wrong and they will tell everyone they know.

the build quality is very good compared to the ones ive seen at best buy, circuit city for the price range. the only thing i would recommend is to not go with the glossy screen even if its a free upgrade. i dont know the specs for the glossy screen, but i think there is a + after whatever resolution. the glossy is not worth it. it may be great in the dark, but it sucks during the day. also, try to get 2 gb of ram if you can.

I have had the 1505 for almost two months now...with NO complaints. I had a loaded Toshiba Satellite 5205 prior to this Dell and am very Happy with the Dell Build Quality and performance. As for the True Life screen...I prefer it...I think it is a matter of personal preference. My suggestion is to go to a Dell Kiosk in a mall and check it out. I have no issues with it daytime or nighttime.
I have a Viewsonic vx2025WM with a matte screen on my desktop and the 15.4" SXGA+ True Life on my 1505. The colors are much richer on the Dell. Overall...it is a quality screen...most likely LG, which is good. The viewing angles on the True Life are better...and YES...you need to control light behind you...but WHAT a difference True Life Makes
If you purchase the 1505...you won't be sorry. Make sure to get the Core 2 Duo processor. AND...get 2 GB of ram...my only mistake

Its been 3 weeks since I got my 1505 and I am extremely happy with my dell. At first I was concern about WSXGA+. The text at first was too small. Now I cant see myself get anything lower then 1680x1050. Where could you find a notebook for under $1100.00 with these specs:
Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0 GHZ)
2 GB DDR2 SDRAM
15.4" WSXGA+ True Life (1680 x 1050)
ATI X1400 w/ 256 MB Hypermemory
120 GB 5400 RPM Seagate HDD
WinXP MCE 2005
DVD Burner
