8600 pent. m 1.4
dell has a outrageous deal on the 8600 , but it only comes with a pent. m 1.4 would i be sacrificing a lot of speed vs. say the pent. m 1.6. i will be using mostly for email, web browsing, dvd movie watching and an occasional game playing. Any thoughts? all help would be appreciated. pajer

I'm sure the 1.4 is fine, but there is a difference between it and the 1.6 besides clock speed. I think it had to do with the cache (1.6 was twice as much) if my memory serves me correctly.
That said, I just ordered an 8600 with the 1.4 processor. However much slower it may be, it will be better than the AMD K2 (300 I believe) laptop its replacing.

I thought the 1.4 M had the same amount of 2mb of cache like the 1.6.
