format//dell hidden partition
hi, i just format my laptop Dell Inspiron 6400. its my second time. the first time i format it i could open the hidden partition by pressing ctrl + F11. but this time i try several times but still doesn t work. im sure and know that i didn t delete the hidden partition cauz when i re install winxp there is still the hidden partion in it and i didn t delete it. can comeone help my out, to find a way top activate the hidden partition. thx!!

Generally, once you format, the restore partition will no longer work. Some users have been able to use the Media Direct repair, and it repairs the boot partition so that the Media Direct works and the Restore partition works.

so i should use the "Media Direct repair" prog to try to fix the partition? so it might have a chance to work?

you can try it. I can't gurantee it, nor can I promise that it won't cause problems. You'll just have to take the risk. Personally, if you know how to reformat and are reformatting, I'm not really sure why you would want the restore partition to work.

in the hidden partition it has all my driver n stuff..... now i ve format my window.... n i can t re install the drivers... no sound card... no wireless card installed... the video isn t correct... can t log to internet to dl them + i dono which version are my programs....

That doesn't make any sense. The hidden partition does not have the drivers. It returns your laptop back to factory condition with all of the junkware.
You can use the driver's disc to get your drivers or download the network driver (either ethernet or wifi) on a computer that you have access to the internet. Then save it to a USB drive or to a cd to transfer it to your laptop.
