Re: Foxconn secures Apple notebook orders
Possibly, although the story seems to indicate that this is for a new MacBook model (i.e. something different than the current 13" MacBook or 15/17" MacBook Pros).

Hrm... I wonder what it means. Awfully vague really.
Totally different Apple notebook? maybe.... but doubtful
Or are they just using semantics to make it sound like they're making different MB units? And hey, Merom could come out in the MB by the end of the year if the MBP gets Merom by November.

No way to know, Apple keeps this kind of thing pretty under wraps, so we won't really know for sure what they are working on.

Re: Foxconn secures Apple notebook orders
I'd be really surprised to see them do another 12" model (a la the 12" PowerBook G4). I wouldn't be so surprised to see a 13.3" MacBook Pro though.

Re: Foxconn secures Apple notebook orders
it should be the 12" since thats the only one missing from the lineup right now

Would a 12" Macbook/Macbook Pro cheaper than the regular MBP though?

Re: Foxconn secures Apple notebook orders
13.3 MBP, sweet.... But wat kind of GPU they ll cramp in there, hopefully at least a full clocked 7400go (or even better the GT).

Re: Foxconn secures Apple notebook orders
Presumably..... when Apple made the 12" PowerBook G4, it was cheaper than the 15 and 17" PowerBook G4's, although more expensive than the 12 and 14" iBooks. It's also probably worth noting that the 12" PowerBook G4 was missing a few of the features on the larger models (such as the backlit keyboard, etc.).
Presumably it would sit at some price point between the 13.3" MacBook and the 15" MBP..... maybe something in the $1699-1799 range.
The GeForce 7400 would seem to be a fairly logical CPU to stick in it, as this seems to be what is used in comparable machines like the XPS M1210 and the Sony SZ series.
