Question:
7500 32mb vs 9600 64mb
is there a huge difference in the cards? i want to get the 9600 but not sure if its worth it price wise. ($300 more)
i would be using the machine for some gaming and i want it to stay current for the next few years
Answer:
Huge, huge difference. I currently own a computer with a 7500. In 2001, the 7500 was state of the art. It's definitely better than any integrated solution, but if you want to play today's games well, do yourself a favor and just get the 9600. It's the difference between playing something at 20 fps (playable) and playing that same game at higher settings at 50-60 fps (silky smooth).
Which models are you considering?
--------------------
Compaq Presario 2800T
Pentium 4-M 1.6 GHz - 15" UXGA
512 MB RAM - 40 GB (5400 rpm)
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 64 MB

www.ecost.com is a good place if you want to buy from states. they don't have the reu in us tho so you'd probably look into the dxu as a equiv.
