I am new in formatting 5102 WLMI
My question is what are the steps to recover my system the way it was after formatting, I saved in partition d all the information using e-managment tools, but now what do I do, how do I format and then what?

if you have not deleted the hidden partion
restart the computer, when the ACER splash comes up hit ALT + F10 and it will enable Disk to Disk recovery... that will whip C: out and return it to factory state
Note: before you do anything make sure what ever is on your C: and D: are on dvds as well. sometimes things go wrong just be safe. and make more than one back up.

my dell latitude does not show a f12 for formatting harddrive,what can i do

i know you can do something like what i just discribed with a dell i just don't know how on a dell. that is how you do it on an ACER. try the dell section of the forum.
