Question:
Just got hp dv9000t, guide to cleaning and optimizing it?
Hey guys i just got a hp dv9000t and it has a bunch of trial programs already installed on it. Does anyone have a guide for cleaning off a new hp and how to optimize it to its fullest potential. I want this notebook to be very clean, organized, and at its full potential. Also what programs would you recommend downloading to tweak / optimize settings for windows / hp / graphic card, etc. Thanks.

I would check for dead pixels and clean out any of the programs they installed that you don't need

Also, try out CCleaner (to remove registry entries for those removed programs) and Microsoft BootVis.

Coolbits for overclocking. Fool around with the add/remove programs to get rid of anything you don't want. download latest graphics drivers/windows updates/office updates/directx updates/internet explorer updates/download microsoft framework 3.0/download speedfan to check cpu stats|3dmark for gpu stats/run a virus scan...and your good to game.

system mechanic 7 is pretty good, but kinda expensive. i use registry mechanic, tuneup utilities 2007, and ccleaner. eventhough i reformat my laptop, registry mechanic still finds 90+ problems. and tuneup utilities found 120+.
