Acer 4002 or 4502 (what about the screen)

Question:
Acer 4002 or 4502 (what about the screen)
Hello.
I read a lot in this forum for the last few weeks. Now I got some questions ;)
The notebooks of my choice:
TM4502LMi (1660 canadian)
IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 725 (1.60GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 400MHz FSB); 512MB (256/256) DDR333 SDRAM; 80GB hard drive; modular DVD-Dual drive (DVD+/-RW) ; 3-in-1 card reader; 15.0" XGA (1024 x 768) display; IntelŪ 855GME chipset with integrated graphics; 802.11b/g WLAN, 10/100 LAN, V.92 modem
or
TM4002WLMi-XPP (1500 canadian)
IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 725 (1.60GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 400MHz FSB); 512MB (256/256) DDR333 SDRAM; 60GB hard drive; integrated DVD-Dual drive (DVD+/-RW); 15.4" WXGA (1280 x 800) display; IntelŪ Extreme Graphics 2; 802.11b/g WLAN, 10/100 LAN, V.92 modem
In this forum i read a lot of complaints about the 4000 series screeen. So would it be better to spend 160$ more on the notebook to get a better screeen (i dont care about the card reader and the extra 20 gig).
I want to use the noteook fot writing, webdesign, litte graphic apps, and a litte gaming (civ3, gameboy emulators etc.)
So can anyone tell if the 4000 series screen is really that bad?
Are there any other good alternatives (same price range) to these notebooks (avail. in canada)?
Thanks for your help. Im kind of lost in this notebook jungle :D.
