Question:
Acer 5670 Audio Problem
All sound output is coming out choppy. This includes speakers and headphones. I've searched the forums and have downloaded and installed the audio driver (realtek I think) and have the same problem. What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Re: Acer 5670 Audio Problem
Firstly go to Control Panel, and open up the applet for the Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager. Check the settings in that - there are quite a few. Especially check the enviromental settings, and see that it is not on Sewer Pipe or something weird.

Thanks, I've already checked that though. The sound is not under any kind of effect, it is cutting out and a little distorted.

Re: Acer 5670 Audio Problem
iceman,
I had the same problem with my 5672. I ended up returning the lappy. I could not stand it. Ironically, I did not experience the problem with the default Windows XP Home install the laptop came with. When I upgraded or did a fresh install to Windows XP Pro with all the latest drivers and the latest Windows updates including SP2, the stuttering started. It even affected the mouse, when it stuttered or popped and clicked, the mouse would similarly stutter. The problem was even worse when a data copy was underway. BTW, Acer support recommended a return since it was less that 21 days after I got the laptop.
Hope you resolve your issue .:)

joystik,
Anyone feel free to correct me, but I think you get it with XP Home when you buy the Aspire 5672. I haven't seen any bugs with XP Home that would necessitate going to Pro, they are essentially the same in many respects except the fact tha XP Pro is designed for the business environment with its need for features such as the ability to join the Windows/Samba domain.
