Question:
American Chassis builders?
Alright it seems there aren't any! ASUS, CLEVO, etc. etc. are all chinese/taiwanese and so on. I believe averatec is an american maker but thats the only one I can find. Its not like with memory and hard drives and all that where you have US makers. Well anyone know of any american builders and what do you think of them? What do you think of averatec?

Averatec(previously known as Sotec) is no US maker, they are the same as every other laptop brand. They are just a company who market products under their name. Some of their laptops are made by MSI and majority of them are built by Uniwell. Both MSI and Uniwell are Chinese/taiwanese companies.

Nope, the closest you can call as an American maker could be Dell, they assemble some of their desktops here, but most laptops are made in China or some are made in Korea and Japan.
But you could find some American chassis designers- Dell, HP. I think(not quite sure) they design their own chassis and give them to the ODM's to build.

But no american builders :( What a shame. Reminds me when I recieved my Dell which my parents bought because it was "american" (which I admit I sorta like) I noticed the sticker on the bottom read made in malaysia! Most of the components are foreign as well. So much for buying american. :(
