Can't hibernate!
Hey all, I has to reinstall windows the other night due to a problem. I reinstalled it by updating it so I did not lose all of my files. I have gotten everything working right again, except for some reason I cannot Hibernate anymore. Any ideas how to fixts. Thanks!

Check and make sure that hibernation is enable (control panel-->power management--> hibernate tab)
What are your hibernation settings set for?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have gone to control panel - perfomrance and maintenace - power options, and I do have hibernation enable in the tab. For some reason though, it won't show up on the shut down menu, and the fn + F1 shortcut wont work...

I've had the same problems before with XP. Its not really a dell problem, so i'll move this to software.
My suggestion is to maybe make it where if you push the power button, it hibernates.

Actually, I don't have an option to hibernate on the shut down screen either, only standby. But I configured my system (my desktop) to hibernate when I press the power button once, as SouthernGirl touched on.

Thank you that worked. It is just strange, I wonder why the picture went away. As lone as I can hibernate though I am happy. Thank you!
