dv1000t remote control (PC card) & some photos!!! :)
I just bought a HP media PC card remote control (according to HP website, it's compatible with dv1000t). Now I just found out that my dv1000t doesn't have a PC card slot. I contacted tech support and they told me that only the old dv1000t have PC card slot and express card slot and the later model of dv1000t have only express card slot. Is this true? This sucks, cos now i have to get another express card remote control.:mad: Any of you out there experience the same thing?
I will take some pictures of my lappy and post after i get it back from HP. (had to send it back due to "bad video" they said:confused: )

The DV1000T does indeed have an Express Card slot rather than a PC card slot. That's the bad news. The good news is that they also make an Express Card remote. Perhaps you could send it back and get the Express Card one instead?

I have a dv1000t on order, and plan to order the remote. I would have ordered the smaller one, if I hadn't read your post!
I had already gone on hp's site to check out the remote control, and saw there were two of them, but I assumed I'd have to purchase the smaller one. (Seems like the Express Card remote is larger, which is probably a good thing, though)
Thanks for the photos. Nice to sit hear and be able to look at the computer I ordered, two weeks ago, as I wait (and wait, and wait, and wait) for it to arrive!
By the way, anyone know where I can purchase a 12 cell battery for the dv1000t cheaper then on the HP site?

The express card size remote should be a little bit shorter but the width is the same as the PC card one. I believe either one would work except that there is no place to store the PC card one in the new DV1000T. Nevertheless, there are quite a few changes between the 2 remotes besides form factor and button layout. Some useless buttons were removed and now it has a repeat(?), up, and down buttons. I wonder what is the difference between the up and upright triangle. Same question for the down button. By the way, I got a DV4000 that has both slot, but the Express Card remote page does not say it would support DV4000. Anyway, I've learned my lesson not to trust HP's online info.
