external monitor as extended display
currently i only manage to configure the external monitor as a duplicate of what is on my laptop screen. i am wondering how to make the external monitor as 'extended' instead of 'duplication'.

Assuming you're using XP
right click on your desktop -> properties
from then on click the settings tab
make sure 'extend my windows desktop on this monitor' is checked after you've clicked on the 2nd monitor on the picture above.
if that doesn't work
try
fn + F7
try to play with those settings and modify.

yay it worked
turns out that the option in fn +f7 for extended is only viewable when i create a new profile.
