e1505 Memory

Question:
e1505 Memory
I am currently waiting for my 1505 from Dell. I figured I would ask a few questions while I wait.
The memory that is coming with it is the 1GB (2 - 512's) running at 533. My question is, would it be worth upgrading to a 3rd party memory (crucial / Kingston) running at 667? Would there be a noticable improvement in performance?
If so, how much do you think I would be able to get for the stock ram on ebay?
Thanks guys!!!

Re: e1505 Memory
I wouldn't upgrade until you see how it performs. I don't think it would be worth paying the extra, you won't notice much an increase. If you were to upgrade to say 2GB of RAM then I would upgrade the speed. :)
2x512MB should be Samsung, you can get probably around $65-75 I would think. Maybe a little more...depending on the prices online. :)
Hope this helps.

Re: e1505 Memory
Thanks for the information.
I want to upgrade to 2GB, so I am probably going to sell the original memory.
Also, I was thinking about swapping out the hard drive to a Hitachi Travelstar (80 GB / 7200 RPM) as I don't think that the stock HD (60GB / 5400) will be fast enough.
Do you think there would be a worthwhile increase of performance by switching the HD's?
Thanks again! :)

Hope this helps. I agree unless you doing 2gb it's not worth the upgrade.
