Question:
How heavy is the modular bay battery?
How much heavier does the modular bay battery make the p5020d?
Answer:
Damnit Myke, I've looked all over and cannot find the answer. I've been debating about buying a modular battery or a second main battery, but haven't decided yet. I do know the modular batt is smaller, so it should weigh a little less than the main.

Answer:
Ok, so I called customer support on this. They don't have battery weights in the system, but she alluded to reports that the battery ads only a few ounces to the entire package, meaning it's only slightly heavier than the drive you would replace.

Answer:
Hey Brian,
Why give up the optical drive option? Why not just get a second main battery and do a switcheroo if need be?

Answer:
I'm debating...the problem is that I usually want the battery while watching movies, which makes the second main battery the best alternative. Although, I like the simplicity of having the other battery in the slot. If I did this, I might just rip movies to the hard drive and delete them when I'm done...who knows.

Answer:
yeh dvd ripping, see 'How long does P5020 battery really last?' topic
Answer:
yeah, i really woulnt use the DVD/CD drive that often, only to install programs. I'd suggest ripping your DVDs as it takes less battery power to play a movie file than spin the dvd.
Also about the bay batter vs. an extra main battery, i heard that although the bay batter is less powerful, when two batteries work together it puts less strain on then thus making them work even longer.
