About Toshiba recovery CD
I want to format my Toshiba P15 S479 with the recovery CD but when it restarts it says that it will start Windows 98 so does this mean that when I reinstall to its defult it will install windows 98? and not windows media center???

I noticed the same exact thing with my Fujitsu P5020D. I ended up with XP Pro though, just as it should have been.

It says "Windows 98" because they base their BOOT CD on a Windows 98 image. Since you can't boot off a Windows XP diskette into a command prompt, it loads the 98 command prompt so you have support for FAT & FAT32 file systems. Once the image is reloaded onto the HDD (most likely using Ghost), the system restarts and viola, it's running XP again. You have nothing to worry about. I used to make Restore CD's the exact same way using Ghost.
