Question:
acer 5004, is that bad?
Hi,
I was thinkin in buying the Acer 5004, mainly because it has turion 64, 1gb of memory and in argentina it costs around u$s 1500.
But I've read many reviewers that said that the 5003 was a bad notebook and that it had many problems.
Is this true?.
I just want to know what you all Acer knowning guys recommend. I really don't want to got a bad notebook because they are really expensive down here and I want to use it for at least 4 years.
Best regards,
C.

What else is available down there within your budget? Usually something like a ThinkPad R series will offer good quality on a lower budget. If it is available, the Dell Latitudes offer good quality at a more reasonable price.

The problem is that Iwas looking for Turion based notebooks and the Acers are the only ones with Turion here.

By limiting yourself to 64 bit you are severely limiting your options.

yes I know, but I want a latptop that will work fine with the next operating systems. that why I thought to pick a turion 64.
I read somewhere here that was the best choice.

If you are refering to Windows Vista, it will run fine on 32 bit. The 32 bit version in fact will be released first. 64 bit will become mainstream, but it will take some time.

Hi,
I have the HP pavillion dv5000z in the list also.
I was making the choice thinking that as fast as everything goes in computers, probably in the 2007 64bit is already a must.
I change my desktop pc every two years.
