I noticed now on dells website you can add the integrated bluetooth for 45 dollars to the E1405. Where was this 4 days ago.

Well, I checked and it wasn't suppose to ship till the 19th, but according to the website it shipped today. Oh well, if I buy the chip how do I know if there is room for it? Doesnt it go in the same location as the wireless card?

I dont think so.. think some of them are like that... best bet is to call dell and ask and if all fails.. just buy a cheaper usb BT, works the same if you think about it.
I just know I am glad I have internal... my cell phones, pda all connect BT and I use BT to connect my phone as a modem at times.. so depends on your needs if you really need it.

Check out the schematics on their web site. It doesn't appear hard to put in yourself, if you are comfortable taking stuff apart AND putting it back together again.

Both the wireless card and bluetooth adapter fit in the same compartment (and coexist). Its about as difficult as changing a battery on a cordless phone.

And keep in mind that until Microsoft releases a fix for the Dual Core ACPI/USB 2.0 issue, you'll want to have as few USB devices as possible.
