7200 rpm VS 5400 rpm for T60

Question:
7200 rpm VS 5400 rpm for T60
Anybody can give a review of it? I want to know whether or not 7200 is worthy. And I heard that 7200 is much more noisy than 5400. Is that right? Thanks a lot! Compared to the speed different (big different?). which one will you choose?

Depends on what you are doing. I hardly hear mine. For hard drive intensive apps, the faster drive will shine. For internet, Office, burning discs, not as much.

What kinds of things are the intensive apps? Playing game and analyzing data are the most important apps for me. Do you think I should get the 7200 rmp one?

Anything where there is a lot of reading and writing to the drive like audio or video encoding. It most likely will only effect load times while gaming. You could just see how it goes with the 5400RPM. The upgrade if you feel you need to.

Oh, I have another question. If I build my T60 myself, will the parts be shipped to me seperately? Is there any experience about these parts? Do they match very well with the notebook? I mean just like some slot space. thanks!

You cannot build your own T60. You can get a barebone like an Asus or MSI and put it together, but it is unlikely you'll save any money.

You cannot build a Lenovo yourself. They are not barebone notebooks.

I just purchased it from the lenovo website

There is an option "let me build it". What does that mean? I built a notebook and ordered it last night. Is there anything with this order? Thanks! Really worried about this.....here is the order information

Nothing wrong just more expensive than buying a TopSeller. And you'll wait more for them to build it. Plus I would never buy the RAM and HDD from IBM.
Take a look here. Can't you get the same thing cheaper by buying a TopSeller plus your memory and HDD from newegg.com?
