I don't see anything about screen customization on the site. Eddie has offered such things in the past, though. And the differences between the S96j and the Z96j are a higher resolution screen and bluetooth, to the best of my knowledge, so if you swap out the screen, yes, it's very close. :)

The differences are:
1. Screen resolution
2. Bluetooth is standard on the Z and not available on the S
3. Z has the PortBarIII port and therfore the PortBarIII is available
4. Z has a carrying bag (pretty nice on actually) standard, the S has none.
The only way to get a matte screen is to mod it, and void your warranty doing so.

Ah, nevermind...I see it, they just labeled the notebooks as the 96J series with the z96j and the s96j...hmm seems like a better deal for a better resolution screen and bluetooth built in. The price increase is less than 100$

i have never seen the z96j. What i did see was a hybrid version of it. an s96j with bluetooth and a wxga glossy screen in the z96 shell. There was no portbar there. We dont offer the mod anymore. Discontinued yesturday. The mod did not void our warranty. If our warranty was through asus or a disti then it would be we are all 100% self service.
