Another battery issue

Question:
Another battery issue
1 Attachment(s) Keep getting this message about my battery. I know it is set in there correctly and it is snug because I put some self adhesive felt pads in there to tighten it up the day after I got it. I've tried reseating the battery several times to no avail. Battery itself seems to be making contact fine since it charges.
Anyone have a clue what might be wrong?

What jsis is probaly getting at is if its not a genuine sony battery you have to disable ISBMGR.EXE

A nasty little trick by Sony to mess you about and force you to buy there massivley overprice battery
edited this post in response to post below (originaly i said sony were restrcting your rights as a consumer), i didnt mean to miss lead on info so ive changed it. i also wasnt trying to pick a argument as the crux of the post was trying to help mach zero fix his broken notebook, the third line of my post was just a afterword towards Sony, i should really just make a signature that passes on my comtempt towards Sony that gets the point across that i think they are a crappy company with shoddy quality control, terrible customer support and highly dubious when it comes to putting erroneous or invasive software where it doesnt belong, but unfortunatley im not that eloquent

Not your consumer rights. They made the laptop and they only want you to use a sony battery. What that is, is a hack to get past that.
Now, if they said you could use any manufacturers battery and have the same features, and then they added that "bug" then you would have a argument.

Yes, it is the original Sony genuine battery. Tried rmoving the pads and no change. They have been on there since the day after I bought it (they are extemely thin - less than a milimeter) and are the only thing keeping the battery in good contact. Otherwise it would back away and the notebook would act like the battery had been removed
Your adhesive is too thick so the battery do not recharging! If you re-read my original post you'll see that it is charging. That's what makes the fact that the notebook doesn't recognize it all the more baffling.
@JohnNL - Did you ever find out what was causing it? Did you ever contact Sony, and if so, what did they have to say about it?

you should send the laptop to sony under the warranty Sigh. That's what I'm afraid I'll end up having to do. Hoping that is a last resort, though. :( Perhaps a new battery would fix it, but I would hate to shell out all that money for one just to find out it still didn't work.
